One of Vienna's most atmospheric Christmas markets awaits you in the heart of the old town on Freyung: the Altwiener Christkindlmarkt. Between historic palaces and festively decorated stalls, you will find traditional arts and crafts, delicious gingerbread, punch and Christmas music.
Vienna's Christmas market on Rathausplatz is the festive heart of the city and an absolute highlight during the Advent season. A glittering Christmas world awaits you here with over 100 stalls full of culinary delights, traditional arts and crafts and twinkling lights.
At the Vienna Ice Skating Club on Heumarkt, you can experience ice skating in the middle of the city - with a view of the magnificent Konzerthaus. On around 6,000 m², you can skate a few laps in a relaxed atmosphere or try your hand at figure skating, ice dancing, ice hockey, freestyle or curling.
The magnificent Belvedere Palace – once the summer residence of Prince Eugene of Savoy – also reveals its very special charm in winter. When snow covers the baroque gardens and the historic palace glistens in the winter sun, an almost fairytale atmosphere is created. Today, the Upper Belvedere houses an impressive art collection – including world-famous works such as “The Kiss” by Gustav Klimt as well as numerous works by Austrian and international artists. A stroll through the tranquil palace gardens and a visit to the exhibition make the Belvedere an unforgettable experience, even in the cold season.
